With the development of modern science and technology, the technology of telecommunication and guidance has been applied widely in space field, and space technology has made rapid progress.The radome is an important part of protecting the antenna to work normally in severe environments, which is applied more and more widely in the space products. The earliest radome applied in aircraft can be traced back to the World Warâ…¡. In the early of 1950's, the western countries such as US, Western Europe and the former Soviet Union began to do the research on various types of radome, in the later several ten-years, The US and the Soviet Union have made much progress in designing radome and reached very high level especially in electrical structural designing especially. Our country began the study on radome in the end of 1950's, with a way of"independent design, combined tackling, exploring move", after long time of efforts, the designing level was higher and higher, and computer-aided design, manufacturing , test got some applying, but the technical level obviously falls behind the US, the Soviet Union and some other countries.The development of aggressive tactical missile technology accelerates the defensive missle technology, such as the defensive weapon system of American"patriot"that is rapidly developed and equipped for the army,which forms the huge threaten to the common tactical missiles. Under this background, the penetration technology of common tactical missiles is developed, which becomes the basic function of the new generation of common tactical missiles. Anti-radiation missile technology is the most directly way for realizing the penetration. Anti-radiation missile carried by missiles is an advanced penetration technology combing the anti-radiation and tactical missiles, which is completely new applying way. The anti-radiation missiles with high supersonic flying speed meets serious re-entry environments, especially the radome in the warhead which suffers severe aerodynamic heating and loading ,at the same time it also should meet the requirements of electrical properties and attacking precision, therefore, the radome technology is one of the five key technologies for anti-radiation missiles due to the most rigorous demands of thermal, mechanical and electrical properties.This article introduces the whole process of electrical structural designing, testing, examining and optimization of the radome in detail. Starting from choosing radome materials and radome wall thickness structure form, the theoretical designing of electrical structure is developed according to the index of electrical properties. As smallest inter space in the radome due to large structure of half-wave wall, the structure of thin wall is chosen. As the quartz ceramics can not suffer the severe mechanical impact during working, the three-dimensional quartz with reinforced fiber quartz is used. This new type of ceramics composite material has different polarity that brings some difficulties to the designing works of its electrical structure. Through calculating its strength and electrical properties, testing, correcting, first 3mm wall thickness is chosen, the test of its electrical properties meets the requirements, but it can not pass the examination of mechanical properties, anti-heat and anticorrosion properties test. After perform optimization of wall-thickness,calculation,and practical test, 6mm wall-thickness is chosen,its electrical properties can satisfy the requirementand pass the examination of mechanical properties,anti-heat and anti-corrosion, at last the electrical structure of radome is determined. According to the determined structure, the developed and manufactured products of radome passes a lot of examination, espicially succeeded in ground test and flight, and its properties completely meet the requirements which clears away obstacles and create the condition for the research of key products of space. The designing of electrical structure of radome reaches the desired aim.
