The demands of industrial control system are getting higher, such as to be intelligentized, decentralization, networking and standardization. The applications of field bus technology and Ethernet technology is extending. The research project is about the construction of system simulation platform based on the field bus and the Ethernet as well as the simulation applications of intelligent PID algorithm. The platform is based on OPC technology, which provides uniform standards for the industrial automation object oriented programming and improves the system's stability and interoperability. The OPC technology stabilizes the communication and takes on high transferring speed. The technology is adapt to the exchange of mass of data and has become the new industrial standard. The networked control system simulation platform constructed by software method is or not reasonable and effective, the key factor is whether the platform imitates the network communication delay exactly. The system platform links each part and then control the plant by PROFIBUS or the Ethernet, which could reflect the delay's characters of the real networked control system faithfully. The delay of control system based on network has randomicity and matters much to control quality. If the delay time of data exchange falls outside of permissible range, the system performance index will worsen even the system will break down. We should investigate new control algorithm to improve the control quality of the control system based on network. Traditional PID control finds wide use with simple principle and gathers rich experience. Intelligent control theories such as fuzzy control, neural network control develop rapidly and play an important part in applications. But both traditional PID control methods and separate intelligent control methods are deficient. We draw the strong points of others to offset one's own weakness and make the two control methods put into fullplay. We can obtain good control result and improve control quality. In addition, we apply the intelligent PID control algorithm into the control system based on network, which has important practical benefits and significance for the development of industrial control automation.
