Servo control system, taking the mechanical position or angle as the control object, mainly used to solve position tracking control problems. It widely used in the military field and the industrial control field. Embedded system is an application-centered, computer technology based, software and hardware customizable special computer system which is suitable to application system for strict need of function, reliability, cost, volume and power consumption. This paper introduced the concept of embedded system into the traditional servo system, and a design scheme of servo control system based on micro processing machine - ARM and embedded real time operating system -μC/OS-II is proposed.This paper firstly reviewed the development situation of the servo system, analyzed the advantages such as the improvement of the real time performance, modular design of hardware and software of using embedded system in servo system; subsequently introduced the selection of embedded microprocessors and embedded operating systems, an appropriate MCU+RTOS combination simplifies the design of the servo system's hardware and software; then analyzed the mathematical model of the servo motor, established the servo system's three round model and also simulated and debugged using the Matlab software, gained satisfactory results; the last part was the introduction of the system framework, software and hardware design.The system adopted the C/S architecture, the field controller chose the design plan of ARM+μC/OS-II. Communication between the field controller and control computer was realized using the TCP/IP mini protocol base on theμC/OS-II embedded operating system. The remote control and communication software was developed using the Visual C++6.0 under the Windows platform. Consequently the design of the servo control experiment platform based on ARM processor improved the flexibility of the control, reached intelligent control.
