With the continuous development of information technology, technologies in the field of communication are innovating all the time. And the telecom operators continue to provide users with more advanced means of communication choices. While with the ever-increasing Internet's demand of public users, high bandwidth data communications business in the future become an inevitable trend. On this basis, the development of the video business can be seen as a replacement in the field of fixed network communication. In the early development of the video communication, because of bandwidth costs, and many other factors, there were only a few Enterprise users could enjoy the Multipoint Video Conferences because of many factors such as the bandwidth and the costs. Huawei Company developed Video Conference System which based on H.323 protocol made it possible to develop Video Communication.With the cost of broadband networks continue to decline, and the 3G technologies continue to evolve, video communication has been gradually realized, the visual communication needs of the public users are ensuing growing . On this basis, Huawei developed a desktop terminal, video phone. It can be more applicable to ordinary users, also it can provide multi-point video call based on H.323 protocol.While with the development and improvement of NGN (next generation network) technology, it is possible to provide a unified and centralized management for the carrier's business. The model of intensive business development which core business based on Softswitch is an inevitable trend to keep the increasing and improving. The telecom carriers have gradually switched the business of video phone to the NGN platform, and use SIP protocol to achieve visual point-to-point communications following the trend of the technology development. However, the equipments for the switch of video and audio under the NGN platform are still to be improving to provide multipoint video services. It will be more reality to make use of the multimedia video system and NGN platform to achieve the function according the technology program.The study which according the actual demand above, focus on making use of multimedia video system and Softswitch platform to provide multi-point video call. The purpose of this study is to achieve the function of calling, meeting control, dialing service number to join in the meeting, anonymous joining in the meeting by H323/SIP video phone. The research is based on Huawei Company Softswitch platform (SoftX3000 series) and Multimedia video system (including GK, RMCC, GKM, MCU). Softswitch platform and Multimedia Video System are required the relative version. SoftX3000 and GK are connected by GK-GK mode relay, and all the legal users need to register the terminals (mainly referring to SIP terminal) on SoftX3000. Also H.323 terminal will be considered. The GK of multimedia video system only deals with the video business, without any user. According to the SoftX3000 and GK practical network conditions basing on telecom carriers' feature, the study figure out the model of internal network and relay mixed network, also it includes the test and conclusion to support the final result.In the model of intranet, Soft3000X should be connected GK by the relay of GK-GK mode, and the MCU should be registered on GK. This mode needs to configure virtual relay and IP list, and check the incoming call from the MCU. All the users register on the SoftX3000. The h.323 terminal sets up a call by ARQ message while the SIP terminal sets up a call by INFO massage. In the mixed network condition, it is strongly recommended to use the mode of one GK with several SoftX3000. The fuctions of meeting control, setting up multipoint call, anonymous caller joining the meeting and joining in the meeting by calling a service number referring the two conditions above are being tested and achieved.This paper includes the knowledge of the Fixed network product line and Multimedia product line of the Huawei company. My job in this research is to coordinate the project team to complete the research which based on the JiLin telecom operator business. After my request of the multipoint video meeting function which based on the SIP protocol, with the guide and support of the two product line of R&D department, we take a lot of experiments above the function. The work of the SoftX3000 configuration (Part 4.1) are supported by the engineer of fixed network product line, while I finished the rest of work and get the final conclusion.After the research above and feasibility studies, a preliminary agreement of video solution which based on the SIP protocol has been achieved. The operator will get more business by using the existing equipments and network, and the public users are going to achieve a good Multipoint communication. It has strong commercial and practical significance, and it provides the transitional solutions for the video communication evolution.
