The project management of power grids construction, which has features such as large amounts of projects, various and distributed participants, complex workflows, high technical requirements, frequent information flows, have various changing influential factors and interactive affaires, uneasily controlled costs and schedules. Therefore, the processes require to grasp the project development and find out problems and acquire information for high-quality decision. Traditional project management hasn't been able to adapt to moderlized prject management for absent communication between relative divisions, difficult data and documents management and unconsistent workflow. Implementation of project management infromition system is an efficient PM-based measure to enhance the formalization and efficiencies of power gird construction project, as the fundamental digital infrastructure.Based on the power grid construction project management practice, this paper studies the project management and its information support system of Shenzhen power supply company and proposes a series of technical solutions as results.First, after surveying the background and related project management system research, the basic research roadmap is defined. Then , existing PM knowledge systems such as PBOK and ICB are introduced and compared as necessary.Second, the development of prject management practice and engineering studies are overly introduced, while existing problems analyzed. And, its is concluded that information applications in PM is an essential trend with analysis of its development in this fields, especially pointed out the integrating PM system and its contents and methods. This paper introduces the present conditions and PM schemes of power grid constructions projects, especially analyzes the priror statge management, quality management and change management and proposes some beneficial advice. Based on that, the design of functional structure, technical solutions and implementation strategies are proposed about Shenzhen power grid construction project management information system. Finally, relating the project management to workflow management, the paper applies Petri network modeling project management workflow, and represents an integrated workflow model under overall controlling scheme. As necessary, the effects of the system application is evaluated contently .This study related prject management to power grid construction project management practice, represents a technical solution and system design, and gives out some helpful techincal advice about integrating workflow and project management. It's of some engineering and academic values to direct the practice of power grid construction project management.
