With the fast development of the automobile industry and computer technology, engine electronic control technology has made rapid development too. Engine electronic control unit (ECU) has become one of most important parts of the vehicle engine system. As the control core of the engine, the reliability of the ECU has a great of influents on engine economic, dynamical and emission performance of the car. As a result, the ECU performance test is very important. In addition, because different types of the ECU have different features, developing a kind of test system which can detect different models of the ECU becomes an important topic which is very rich in application.This article that aims at the gasoline engine ECU produced by Hubei Tianyun Automotive Electric Systems Corporation develops a kind of comprehensive performance test system for the gasoline engine ECU based on the in-depth study of the engine ECU, CAN bus protocol and the CCP protocol. The system can use the computer simulation technology to simulate different working conditions in accordance with the actual working environment of the ECU, read the signal acquisition data of the ECU in accordance with the CCP protocol, gather the output signals of the ECU in real time, and makes the analysis to the signal. Based on this, it can realize the comprehensive performance test for each module of the ECU.The results show that, the test system is effective, can detect the comprehensive performance of the gasoline engine ECU quickly and reliably. In addition, the system is highly versatile, can be used to test different types of the gasoline engine ECU, and can be upgraded at any time.
