The application research of automatic system in cold and shear area for 4300mm thick steel plate based on profibus fieldbus is studied. The shearing facilities of the system are introduced from Italy DANIELI corperation. Automatic system and other facilities are integrated by ourselves. The text emphases on the study of the sucess app1ication based on ProcessFieldBus technology in automatic system in cold and shear for thick steel plate, system,and it emphasizes on the conununlcation Principle based on Processfieldbus unit field and provides reference to the horne industry on ProcessFieldBus technology.This research firstly introduces the production operation of thick steel plate. Then the principle of ProcessFieldBus is studied. The history of the industrial automation is introduced, and the reason why fieldbus is developed is shown. The characteristics and advantages are analyzed. We compare the popular fieldbuses in the world. The detail protocol of Profibus-DP is studied then. Finally, we analyzed the real time characteristics of Processfieldbus.The text introduces the technology of fieldbus, and it emphasizes on the principle of automatic system in cold and shear area for 4300mm thick steel plate and its structure. We use the fuzzy-adapted vector frequency conversion conrol technology. The reason why fieldbus is used and why profibus is used in many kinds of fieldbuses is discussed. The automatic detect principle and frequency conversion drive principle are introduced. We use Siemens hardware and software configuration between S7-400 master station and slave station. The configuration software is STEP7.
