Research And Implementation Of Key Technologies Of Articulated Animation

As an important constituent of the three dimensional animation, articulated animation is occupying more and more important status in many computer application domain, for example, film,television and computer game, and so on. Along with the high development of articulated animation technologies, obtaining the nature human or animal motion already is not an extremely difficult matter, but still has many problems.Some key technologies of articulated animation are researched, including keyframe technology, kinematic motion control technology and motion retargeting technology, some algorithms are implemented with VC++6.0 and OpenGL. The kinematics algorithms of ariculated animation are summarized. The concrete computational method of forward kinematics is given, three kind of inverse kinematics algorithm are researched, constraint based jacobian algotithm is proposed with improving the jacobian algorithm, and these algorithms are implemented with the experiment, further more, they are analysized and compared with the experiment result.The existed motion retargeting algorithms are improved. Combined with the kinematic moiton control technology, the inverse kinematics based motion retargeting algorithm is given. According to the proportion relations of the target model and the primitive model, the root joint position of the target model is adjusted. With the end effector position of the primitive model, the root joint translation of target model and its joints degree of freedom is obtained using the inverse kinematics technology, so the motion retargeting is achieved.An articulated animation system is designed with VC++6.0 and OpenGL. Some key technologies of articulated animation is implemented in this system, including forward kinematics,inverse kinematics,motion retargeting and keyframe technology.
