Petroleum is one of the most important energy source and chemical material, distillation range is one important physical property of petroleum, in refining and petrochemistry industry, it's a parameter of product quality control and producing technic. Laboratory distillation of petroleum analyzer is used to get the distillation range of petroleum products, and widely used in many industries such as oil refining, chemical industry, internal-combustion engine etc.Most laboratory distillation of petroleum analyzer in China now rely on manual operation, precision of distillation range is dependent on operator. With the developing of computer and sensor, automatic control technology, it's possible to improve laboratory distillation of petroleum analyzer with these technologies, make them automatic and intelligent.The characteristics of distillation are micro flux, zero-pressure gradient flow, discontinuous flow and pipe not being full of liquid. CIS device is used to measure the flux of distillation liquid. GAL device is used to build its driver circuit, AT89C51 single chip computer is used to process CIS device's output signal and communicate with PC, distillation flux measurement is automated.Thermal resistors are used to measure the temperature of two specified spots, follow the manual and protocol of temperature monitor system, we developed a program running on PC which can get temperature digitally.Using DAC with silicon controlled rectifier power modulater, we can control the heating power of the equipment, circuit board and programs are made to implement power control automation.USB camera is used to capture the video of distillation experiment, video analyzing and motion detection could detect the Initial Condensing Point, this method is intuitionistic and smart, easy to adapt to different situation.After these separate parts above finished, a control program with full functionanity is developed on PC to integrate measuring and controlling. This program has friend User Interface, read and write different variables in multi-thread, response rapidly and realized realtime control, and it's stable.With these functions implemented on PC, we also implemented serial communication and video capturing on embedded devices, after control algorithm created and verified, we can easily port it onto embedded device and form a real automated laboratory distillation of petroleum analyzer.
