The Fire Sensing Network, which remains a wire system for long time due to immaturity of wireless technology, is a key element of the Fire Control System. How ever, there has always been a demand for wireless Fire Sensing Network systems in both daily life and industrial world. ZigBee, an industrial control aimed, low speed, low power consumption and low price telecommunication specification, is one of the most promising technologies for Wireless Sensor Networks. In this paper we introduce the implementation of the ZigBee Based Wireless Fire Sensing Network.We first analyze the existing Fire Control System as well as the relevant National Standard, and put forward the basic function and qualification requirements.As for Zigbee specification, we thoroughly introduce its origin and characteristics, as well as its different layers including PHY, MAC, NWK, Application and Application Support layer. We also give a guideline of ZigBee application development.The system design is divided into two parts, hardware design and software design. In the hardware design part, the principles and schemes are discussed. In the software design part, the characteristics of the ZigBee software stack and the software IDE are introduced. Also are the design of Zigbee profile for fire sensing and the OSAL based multi task operating system analyzed.At the end we list the system test results, and propose the future developments of the ZigBee based Wireless Fire Sensing Network.
