In the information society, information is the important source for maintaining social, economic and production activities, and it has become the base of political, economic, social and cultural fields. Exploration methods and techniques for extracting network multimedia information contributes to the establishment of a reliable and efficient network information security system, it also helps for maintaining social and political stability and sound economic development.Aimed at specific application requirement, the design of a network multimedia information extraction system and the design principles of this system are explained, the system structure, work processes and function modules of the system are described.Three multimedia information extraction methods, including extraction method based on decoder, extraction method based on packaging, extraction method base on remote thread injection are discussed. Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of three multimedia information extraction methods, the system adopts a specific multimedia information extraction method. Extraction method based on packaging, which involves audio video interleave file and wave file is used for extracting multimedia information encoded by opening encode standard; extraction method based on remote thread injection is used to extract multimedia information encoded by un-opening encode standard.In order to improve the system performance, on the basis of analysis of three different memory models which are fragment memory model, combined memory model and memory pool model, the optimal model--memory pool model--is applied in network multimedia information extraction system. Memory pool model improves the performance in several ways, it reduce the number of interaction with Disk by storing several packets at one time, besides that, it reduce memory operation times by adopting memory recycling mechanism. To meet the situation of the network multimedia applications, an opening multimedia extraction framework is brought forth. The framework improves the scalability of the network multimedia information extraction system, and makes the system practical.The system we've designed can extract common network multimedia information, and the results indicate that the system has high performance, good stability and scalability.
