Hardware Processing Platform is an important part of laser scanning system. It is designed upon the theory of ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) System, and provides a running environment and a kind of support of bottom software for the whole system.For the current signal of PSD (Position Sensitive Detectors), the system translates it to voltage signal, which then is amplified to a suitable scope. ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) gathered the amplified signal driven by FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array). The results can be used to calculate the deflecting angle of the scanning mirror. Then the algorithm of PID( Proportional,Integral and Differential) handles this angle. The final result is sent to DAC and the power amplifier in order to drive the VCM (voicecoil motor). This paper discusses the author's research and practice on the laser scanning processing platform based on FPGA. A hardware platform, as well as some driving software is designed and the interface aimed at the demand of PID algorithm is developed.This paper puts emphasis on the realization of the hardware circuit and the algorithm. In the part of the hardware circuit, toward applications, it mainly introduces three modules: the power module, the module of adjusting, gathering, and analog outputs, and the control processing module based on FPGA. According to the differences of these chips, the introduction of the principles, the design of the hardware and the methods of the processing are given in this paper. During handling with the PID algorithm, the paper firstly introduces the principles of the PID, in which two methods and an improved algorithm are introduced. Then the process is designed by using FPGA. In order to show the advantages of FPGA in this project, the paper also analyzes the results of each processing module.At last of the paper, the results of the hardware-supporting platform of the laser scanning system are given. The existing problems and the methods to solve them are pointed out.
