Laser Display Technology (LDT) is one of the most promising technologies for large area (or screen) display. Due to the unique advantages of RGB laser, such as, monochromatic, small divergence, high brightness, etc, LDT has many advantages. The greater spatial coherence results in greater depth of focus, permitting projection on curved surfaces, high resolution, high definition, greater pixel contrast. The monochromatic nature of laser light results in brilliant, saturated colors and greater optical efficiency. Diode-pumped all-solid-state LDT also has the advantages of long lifetimes (in excess of 10,000 hours), low power consumption, compact structure, small bulk and easy operation. Consequently, all-solid-state LDT is becoming more and more competitive and will be dominant in the 21 century's display field.This dissertation has made systematic researches on the image scanning and color recurrence technologies of all- solid-state Laser TV. The main contents are as follows:1. introduced the common display technologies and the main advantages of LDT, summarized LDT's developments, researched the design of RGB Laser in all-solid-state LDT and The polygonal mirror scanning system.2. The color image recurrence of LDT involved the concerned knowledge about colourometry and the visual characteristic of human eye. The colourometry problem in display systems was summarized in this dissertation, The conversion matrix of laser three primary color display to the EBU phosphor TV was calculated;3. The video signal buffer storage and control system was designed and made. The signal type is VGA from PC. By using image scale algorithm, The VGA video signal was adapt to this system,1MB dual-port RAM storages were used as buffer storages for RGB date streams. The synchronization between the scanner and PC video signal was realized.4. A laser display color space conversion chip was designed by using FPGA, so the video signals aim at CRT display can accurately recurred by all- solid-state LDT system;5. Achieved 5m~2 display with RGB all-solid-state Laser.
