With the development of computer and the Internet, multimedia technology applies wider and improves the quality a lot. As high quality multimedia data takes up more resources, the direct storage and transmission are becoming more and more difficult. As a result, compressing is necessary.This paper, based on an audio-visual compression technology program, does in-depth research on the capture and compression of real-time video. Discuss the design and implementation of the real-time video capture-compression system in detail. The system uses DirectShow framework, with camera capturing the video. Computer finishes the compressing, decoding and playing the video.The paper first introduces the DirectShow framework, including the system overview, the components, the data flow and so on. Besides the paper analyses a DirectShow program to make the framework better understood.Then, the design and implementation of the real-time video system are particularly discussed. Also, explain the key code and show the results to impress the compression technology.Finally, give out advanced ideas about the system.Considering most real-time video capture-compression systems are realized by hardware, the software system in the paper is original, and it can be of some reference value for others in the same field.
