Information transmission of the status on rotating machinery is an important subject in industry, it could be used in real-time monitoring of dynamic parameters on rotating machinery, as well as to provide a means of information transmission of some rotating machinery which dedicated to collect information. System used motor unit installed in the surface of the rotating machinery to sample dynamic data and to transmit optical information, fixed unit installed on the shaft was used for receiving and transmitting information. thesis studied the programme of the transient burst-mode short-range wireless optical communication which was single-point-transmitting and single-point-receiving , and developed a practical prototype.According to the LED luminous distribution model, thesis analysised and compared different LED emission model, designed a light-emitting pattern of double LED. Optical receiver used auto-adaptive threshold so that it could establish communication links in several bits' time, and achieved correct judgment of the constantly changing optical signal. Designed data-frame structure and optical channel coding for optical transmission,and the threshold using bit error rate formula. Proposed the principles to design optical channel coding in the burst-mode fast fading channel. Set error correct mechanism in MCU and PC. Designed error detection procedures for optical transmission coding and visual data display program running on PC.Developed a prototype which was used on rotating machinery whose rotate speed is 100 6000 rpm, it had four sampling channels of 12 bits, which was sampling 800 times per second in each channel. It achieved transient burst-mode optical transmission whose bit error rate is less than 10-9.Among the research, thesis provided effective means of practical parameters acquisition and transmission for online test and real-time monitoring on a variety of rotating machinery. At the same time, the prototype was a successful practice in the transient burst-mode wireless optical communication.
