In recent years, wireless network technology has been developed rapidly. With its feature of quickly installation and no infrastructure, mobile Ad Hoc network is attracting more and more attention. In mobile Ad Hoc network system, mobile node is not only client but also router, which brings challenge to the route finding, selecting and maintaining. And what's more, it has difficulties in location discoverying process. In this paper, a distributional location service, which is based on location information, is presented. By using the location information, the efficiency of finding and selecting the routing protocol is greatly improved. We use location information to divide entire network into grid zone with fixed size and each grid has a unique grid label id. According to the label id, the entire network can be divided into high-channel sub-network and low-channel sub-network. These two subnets are used to transmit location information. According to the lowest node mobility algorithm, we can select the location server in each grid. And in each grid, the nodes send their location information to the local location server. And through the broadcast relaying gateway, the local location server transmits the node location information to other grid location server again. In this paper, the distributional location service is in two-level mode. The nodes in the same grid gain other node's location information through the location server of this grid. When the nodes belong to different grids, the nodes can gain other node's location information through the mutual correspondence of different location servers. In this paper, I use OPNET network simulator to simulate and test the distributional location service. In order to study and analyze the distributional location service, I introduce the following parameters: throughput, query delay, CPU utilization and route table collection.
