Mobile Ad Hoc Network is a multi-hop temporary autonomous system of mobile nodes with wireless transmitters and receivers without the aid of pre-established network infrastructure. Because so many advantages, such as the networks can be builded rapidly and flexibly, and are not limited by wiring. It can extensively be used to emergency search, disaster rescue, military applications, and so on. So it takes on widespread application foreground, it is also an important direction in the research of networks now.Due to the topology of Ad Hoc Network is dynamic, the routing has become the most important problem. There are many routing protocols based on table and demands have been proposed by researchers, such as DSDV, DSR, AODV, and so forth. But the development of network scale brings the higher requires on the routing technique, those routing protocols can't satisfy the need of large scale network, and the geographic-based routing protocol become to hotspot in research. This paper introduces the working theory of geographic routing protocol, particularly the grid location routing protocol. We use the OPNET to simulate the protocol, and give the conclusion that the grid locaiton routing protocol is better adapt to large scale mobile Ad Hoc network by comparing to DSR and AODV.
