The Design And Implementation Of Electronic Document Protection System Based On DRM

With the popularity of computers, more and more confidential information is stored in the form of electronic document in the enterprise. However, because of the insufficiency of electronic documents, they can easily be illegally copied and manipulated, without any trace. Digital documents are faced with severe information security problems.Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology provides a technological way for digital content owners to protect the electronic document information from illegal copying and using. Through encrypting electronic document and authorizing the permissions, the technology can effectively control the distribution of electronic documents and ensure the safty of the usage.Based on deepgoing analysis and research of DRM, this paper proposed and implemented an electronic document protection system(EDPS). The system consists of four parts, including client, strategy control server, management center and data center. In addition, the system supports off-line function to meet the needs when users have to leave the working environment (such as bussiness trip).The main work of this paper are listed as followed:1. The background and research of DRM is introduced. Then the related technologies of digital rights management are analized and studied.Some of the practical applications based on DRM are also given.2. The present situation of the implementation for electronic document protection is introduced and the related technologies are studied in detail.3. The framework of the EDPS system which is based on DRM is provided. The components of the system and their interrelationship are described. The functions and the implementation of the each components are introduced in detail.Then the implementation of the communication flow process in the system and the offline function as well as the transparent encryption are illustrated.4. Functionality, performance and security test of EDPS system is introduced. Through a series of tests and trials, availability and effectiveness of system has been proved.At present, the system has been implemented at an enterprise. After the test trial, the system reached the information protection requirements of confidential enterprise, and achieved high praise.
