The Design And Implementation Of Inventory Management System Based On Struts

In recent years, there has been greater demands of Management Information Systems to meet more complicated requirements, shorter R&D time cycle as well as higher system stability, expansibility, and maintainability. But every distinct case in fact usually needs a distinct settlement, which means too heavy price of time and money to meet the informationization requests for an enterprise. For efficiency, catholicity, safety, and practicability, a better design pattern and a reusable system framework are imperative to work as universal template in exploitation of web-based systems.After investigations of current n-tier system as well as the MVC design pattern and the Struts design framework, a new n-tier framework to build web-based systems is brought up in this paper based on the MVC pattern theory. Discussions about how to use the MVC design pattern in practice with the help the Struts framework and the Hibernate framework are also given.Inventory management is the core of the logistics of corporation. Using the MVC design pattern in Inventory Management information system with the help the Struts framework and the Hibernate framework are significance. An example based on Inventory Management information system is introduced to illustrate the process to build an n-tier framework-based system with the help of the Struts framework and the Hibernate framework. In this case, distinction between description logic and business logic is made possible within the MVC design pattern, which means better flexibility and easier management in the exploration of a system. Results show that this new framework helps to increase work efficiency in exploration. Meanwhile, expansibility and maintainability of the system within this framework are also satisfactory.
