Research And Development On A Virtual Interaction Module

With the development of Virtual Reality Technology, as one of the key features, the human-computer interaction technology becomes a focus in the research of Virtual Reality Technology. Data glove is an important device in the human-computer interaction of Virtual Reality Technology, the implement of the virtual hand is an important method in using the data glove, so virtual hand technology is provided as a natural and efficient method of human-computer interaction.This thesis studies the theory and function of the 5DT Data Glove(5DT Data Glove 14 Ultra14) and FOB Positioning Tracker(Flock of Bird), and designs a virtual interaction & control module, which is fit for the Virtual Manufacture. It provides the application foundation for Virtual Manufacture.Firstly, this thesis studies the application of the 5DT Data Glove and FOB Positioning Tracker, combined with the CAD/CAM platform based on the STEP, and brings forward the human-computer interaction module .Secondly, with the study of the anatomic structure and motion features of human hand and several methods of the virtual hand geometry modeling, the virtual hand model by ellipse units is designed. Using the dynamic sensor data coming from 5DT Data Glove and FOB Positioning Tracker, the movement of the virtual hand is simulated. The virtual hand model and its movement according the data glove is implemented.At last, during the process of the virtual manufacturing, for the sake of the accurate collision detection and the extended snatching between the virtual hand and the virtual object, this thesis analyzes several theories of the collision detection, and aimed at the characteristic of the virtual hand and virtual object, Appropriate collision detection is applied to detect the collision between virtual hand and virtual objects, through validate, it is suitable for the virtual manufacturing, and effective for the human-computer interaction.
