Research Of 3G Multimedia Communication Application Based On RTP/RTCP

3G, i.e., the 3rd Generation Mobile Communication System, which is based on the intelligent signal process technology, not only supports mobile multimedia operation with high rate, but also provides higher spectrum and service quality, realizes the multimedia data communication mainly based on sound business as well as owns stronger multimedia business service capability. With the combination of mobile communication, information electric appliance and consumer electronic product, 3G will satisfy the demands of broad band and multiple businesses, improving the quality of sound business and the rate of data transmission business.RTP/TRCP, the former is the protocol which specifies the transmission of real data, such as audio frequency, video frequency and simulation data, whereas the latter is the service control protocol, which is designed to use together with RTP to control the flux and congestion. It has been improved gradually since its first appearance in the 70s of last century and has now become the international standard. Currently, lots of huge companies (e.g., Netscape, Microsoft, etc.) support RTP/RTCP in their multimedia real communication.In this paper, we first introduce the RTP/RTCP in detail, including the protocol component, control process and its simple application. We then relate amply the multimedia network communication technology, in which we introduce the most popular concept "wireless multimedia network communication" and analyze simply application and research based on wireless multimedia communication technology. Furthermore, we introduce the 3G wireless communication system concept and focus on analyzing the principle and process of wireless multimedia communication technology under 3G environment. Moreover, we compare it with the traditional multimedia communication in detail, so that epurate the characteristics of 3G multimedia communication. Finally, we study a key 3G mobile stream media server technology based on RTP/RTCP and amply analyze the designing principle and realization method of this model. Further, we point out further research directions in the related field.
