Base on the development of the coast-based radar, in this paper, the signal processing system is built up and its interface is designed, at the same time, discussion on the obtain of range profile of ship target in the project is made.With the rapid development of DSP technique, the signal processing machine which is based on the paralleling DSP processing system is applied more and more abroad. In order to shorten the period of the development, the universal signal processing board based on DSP comes out. Multiple universal signal processing cards are use in this radar signal processing platform in this paper, but there are no interfaces to the other machines of the radar in these paralleling processing cards, and also data input control, working mode control, data communication and the last processing of several part results. So it is very important to design the interface in the processor using the universal signal processing cards. In this paper, based on the specialty of the universal signal processing card, how to organize the communication in the system is discussed, and also the peripheral interface of the system is designed, at the same time, a design of communication interfaces between FPGA and two kinds of DSP are given. The interface card discussed in this paper provides the project experience for building system using the universal signal processing card.Coast-based radar is in charge of searching targets including aircrafts and ships, obtaining the position and quantity of the targets, in order to get the information on the sea level for the combat readiness. But it is not enough to only get the position of the targets, for better decision on the sea level or battle field, more information about the targets are needed, that is fast recognizing on the targets.The frequency band of radar is wider and wider, the range resolution has been increased a lot, when the frequency band is 150MHz, the rage resolution is under 1m, at this time, the echo waves received by radar are not points, but a magnitude image of the target along the distance, and that is the high resolution range profile (HRRP). HRRP contains abundant information on shape and structure of the target, it is very valuable in the field of recognizing and moving targets detecting. So the obtain of the range profile in real-time and exactly becomes a important and project work. There is new function of reorganization in the coast-based radar discussed in this paper, we obtained the range profile of ship target with the method of dechirping, and analyzed the average image of the ship targets, and analyzed the influence of the sea clutters when obtain the range profiles, at last, discussed the implementation of the range profile in the coast-based radar system.
