As the power grid has been expanding, artificial method of data management has been unable to meet the needs of the development of electric power. How to manage the power grid parameter scientifically and the standardization of grid parameters are very necessitous and difficult Problems which the power department has to face. To solve the problems, we develop the power system parameter management system which is GIS-based and can meet CIM/CIS standard.By combining the visualization-targeted methodology and the GIS, a visualized transmission parameter management system for electric power grid can provide searching, statistics, analysis and calculation functions. By using the system, the relevant personnel can analyze the working status and trend thoroughly and effectively, and finally, make the right decisions, so the network scheduling efficiency can be improved and the system is of great practical significance for the safety, reliability of the power grid. The development of the automatization in the power system is trending UIB, but these existing application systems are built independently, and theirs data format and data interface are not compatible, to ensure data consistency and integrity are very difficult. During the process of development the management system, to implement a platform which can provide standard data and interface is a very important problem. At the beginning of the thesis, the problems existing in present are introduced and the solutions are then given. It gives emphasis to expatiate the common information model and component interface specification and goes on the research at the view of technical application. On this basis, the detailed design case and the correlative technical problems of developing the system are introduced emphatically. Finally, some visualization functions of the system are introduced, which include the automatic maintenance of the line geographic information, visualization of load density based on data-partitioning, etc.
