It is proved in the Gulf War that GPS can greatly improve the army the capabilities of command and communication,coordinated combat and rapid strike,the accuracy and operational efficiency of the weapons were greatly increased, GPS has gradually become an important support system of modern war. The information of precise position, velocity and time,which is provided from the satellite navigation systems,is used in weapons and will not only bring the prominent efficiency in armored equipment management, but also affect the way and effectiveness of the war.The development of satellite navigation technology is in the latest in China, so the military application of Beidou navigation system is not extensive and in-depth, but the superior performance of position and communications is value in military command.At present, the armored equipment hasn't the navigation and positioning functions, it is behind the developed countries in this area,and the armored equipment isn't adapt to the high-tech wars.The Beidou navigation system has the great realistic significance and military value.The Beidou satellite receivers is installed on the armored equipment, and the positioning datas are abtained by the Beidou equipment,and the information of position and instructions is showed with the using of GIS,and the command center is connected with the armored equipment by the Beidou satellite,military radio and network technology.The armored equipment management system,which is based on the Beidou/GIS,and its functional modules are designed in the paper.The C/S mode is adopted in the system, which receives and calculates Beidou satellite signal under the Beidou positioning technology and GIS technology, edits the digital navigation map,stores location informations in the database and shows them on the digital map. For the solving of the error of road map and the issue of imprecise positioning on the digital map, the main data-processing algorithm of the digital map is studied.It successfully achieved a series of functions, such as browsing of the map, zooming in on the map, zooming out on the map, wandering of the whole map,dynamic positioning of the vehicle, describing of the track, querying the optimized path, and so on.
