Urine analysis is one of the important ways of the diagnosis of urinary system diseases. The doctor judge whether a person is a patient with kidney and urinary tract diseases or a healthy man thought understanding the person's urine physical properties and chemical composition changes. With photoelectric technology, computer technol- ogy applications and the development of basic medicine, all kinds of dry chemical urine analysis equipment have emerged. But the traditional urine analyzer has a common shortcoming that measurement process is slow because the block of urine reagent strips is itemized test by the the stepper motor driving. Meanwhile, Photodiode as the original use of the Sensor, and the use of halogen lamp as a light source, often bring on misjudgment of the result. Sometimes the result judged by naked eye better than the result of the traditional urine. As a result, to solve the default of mention, adopte the full-automated urine analyzer project based on low-cost, low power consumption, the structure of the upper and lower part. The project consists of two major components:(1) Base on the minimum system of the MSP430F149, add asynchronous serial communication module and keyboard I2c communication module thus constitute the entire lower hardware systems. At the same time in the IAR environment transplante the embedded real-time operating systemμC /OS-II on the MSP430F149 MCU and make up the software platform of the lower part. The function of the lower part is the following mention: key information is transferred to MSP430 through I2C communication bus, and then sent it to the PC through the serial port. Use a 16-bit timer/counter with multiple capture/compare registers Timer_B to control coordinate motion of the six stepper motor, consequently finish the task of transferring the urine reagent strips to the proper postion, washing and egesting pipeline.(2) Base on Embedded motherboard as the core hardware resources of the upper part. On the Linux software platform, it sends the instructions to the lower part. The purpose is that the urine reagent strips which had a chemical reaction with urine will be transported to the proper location. Then the CCD camera gathers image which contains a lot of information about the urine composition. When the upper programe get the image, it analyzes the image data and prodeces a result. At last it prints the result through micro printe which connects the upper part by the parallel interface. To ensure the accuracy of checking results of this urine analyzer, we treate the test result of the US-2100R, a urine analyzer made by Sysmex as the the instrument calibration. By comparing the test results, the equipment is consistent with the design requirements. The features: 120 samples/hour, the entirely automatic process, convenience operation, and the use of advanced CCD real-time image analysis system. Thus it can replace the similar foreign imported products such as US-2100R.
