Design And Implementation Of An Embedded SWF Decoder

In the recent years, the consumer electronics products are developing into the global trend, the market expanding rapidly. As consumer electronics products in the core embedded multimedia platform is a huge space for development, such as Web Video Phone. STB, PDA, multimedia phone, navigation equipment. The consumer electronics manufacturers have been able to support the products colorful video and audio broadcast and the animated cartoon and games as a selling point and product development direction. Meanwhile, the embedded multimedia platform for Internet access has been achieved.SWF is popular on the Internet for multimedia interactive vector format, also known as Flash. Based on the SWF technology, the website has achieved a colorful interactive application interface pleasing to the eye. Now because of the mature technologies, the considerable and available resources, SWF is suitable for integration of embedded multimedia platform, realizing the user interface and practices in the tremendous evolution of entertainment programs.Therefore, this paper analyzes the SWF file specification and data construction firstly, and then introduces the system architecture and the key models of the SWF decoder. Importantly, in order to make the SWF decoder reach the ideal playing performance goal, Frame multiplexing is proposed and another algorithm is brought forward to change arbitrarily the picture size when decoding and playing the flash picture without distortion. The decoder has run very well both on the ST and LSI platform of digital TV and the performance is competent.The whole system is developed based on the international standard widely used at home nowadays. The graphics function library which is independent of the system, is designed and the interface between the decoder and system is specified. The features of the good transportability and independence of any embedded operation system, make the decoder to be an independent and general SWF decoding system.Finally, the paper analyzes the application of the digital TV STB.
