From the 20th century, the content over Internet gradually changed from simplex text to multimedia data due to the prevalence of wide band and the rapid development of communication and network technology. Traditional Video-on-Demand applications generally bases on C/S model, which can cause performance bottleneck on server side and waste of network resources and finally makes the quality of VoD not satisfactory. The VoD system needs a lot of server resources and network bandwidth and can not satisfy the spread of VoD business. It is difficult for VoD to support large scale application. The IP multicast and CDN modes proposed later have some defaults: the network level of the former is too complex while the server cost of the latter is too high.Current years, people introduce P2P thoughts into VoD system and the P2P thoughts have a large affect on VoD. The VoD system based on P2P has some advantages: a. it utilizes resource of each user and decentralizes the service; b. it adopts a mode that several transmitter serve one receiver and this mode greatly reduces the cost of server and the whole network. c. it has good scalability, However, this mode has some defaults: a) VoD of P2P mode can not function well when there are not so much user who watch certain program; b) it is difficult for a user who is watching a program to forward or backward the program.In order to overcome the shortcuts of the above modes, mis paper studied and analyzed the new development conditions of VoD technique and designed a mode based on C/S, CDN and P2P technologies in the multimedia network education environment of Neimenggu Tongliao Vocational College This network architecture integrated and embodied all advantages of these three different network architectures. Meanwhile, on the server side, the paper classified all the video material (according to content, date, area and the click count) and finally built a VoD system which combined C/S, CDN and P2P technology. The proposed VoD system evidently improved the quality of VoD and realized the optimized management of P2P network.
