Broadcasting video is the most common and extensive video form. However, here are various problems in it, such as pirating television programme, disagreement on the time and the number of the advertisement, and so on. It is a necessary measure that monitoring the process of program broadcast to ensure the programmes broadcasting accurately and continuously. However, solving these problems by artificial monitoring is not only a waste of time and effort, but the effect is also not ideal. Therefore, we apply the digital watermark to broadcasting video to achieve the monitoring.Digital watermarking is embedding the copyright information into digital host signal (such as image, audio, video), according to some particular algorithm, to authenticate the copyright. And it has been the focus in the field of multimedia signal Processing. The research and application of digital watermark will be of great value both in theory and in application for copyright protection, integrity authentication, access control, broadcast monitoring, customers tracking and so on.Video Watermarking is embedding the copyright information into video content by using redundancy and randomness of the video. It can be used to copyright protection, broadcasting monitoring, copy control, content certification, covert communications and so on. Video embedding methods usually can be divided as follow: embedding watermark into the original video; embedding watermark into the process of compression; embedding watermark into the compressed stream.In this paper, on the basis of the existing methods I have a research on digital watermarking used in broadcasting system.Embed meaningful images into the video sequence by using the method of embedding watermark in original video ,MPEG-2 video compression which cored as DCT conversion and big block in self-adaptation. Because of the resolution of the human eye, even if watermark information has loss partly, watermark information could be identified correctly. That can improve the robustness of the watermark. In the process of embedding, considering the relevance of statistics between adjacent frame, embedding the same watermark information in similar frame can effectively prevent video watermarking attacks that remove the watermark by comparing similar frame. Before the watermark embedding, scramble the watermark image to improve security of the watermark.The watermark extraction is in the player part. First filter video sequence with watermark, which can filter most of the video signal information itself, and improve the performance of watermark extraction system. Then demodulate, add and rearrange the video sequence. After decrypting the extracting information, we can extract the embedded watermark image.At receiver, the user records the ads time according to the monitored watermark to implement the monitoring of the integrity of broadcast content and broadcast time slots consistency. Its accuracy and intelligence are much better than the most existing broadcast advertising monitoring system. With Broadcasting video realizing the demand of full digital, focusing on digital video watermark will be of great significance to help the management of radio and television.Finally, the dissertation summarizes the to-be-resolved problems in watermarking research, and the emphases of further research. Besides, it provides an outlook of video broadcast monitoring and information net.
