Nowadays with the rapid development of information technology and computer network, text, images, videos, audio and other digital products are increasingly rich. The digital products have the advantage of lossless copy and distribution, this makes the pirated copy more and more rampant and increases demand of information security and protection of digital products, so copyright protection is an urgent issue to be resolved. Digital watermarking, which is used to authenticate the copyright by embedding copyright information into digital products, is being developed under this circumstance. This technique makes up for the traditional encrypting technique and has become the focus in the field of multimedia signal processing. This article conducted the research and the discussion mainly on video watermarking technology and its application.The research of video watermarking scheme starts a little later than image watermarking scheme, and it's a difficulty on the research of digital watermarking. Many video watermarking schemes have good effect at the robustness, but these schemes are hard to be used in practical application because of the complex process of embedding and extracting watermark. We propose practical watermarking schemes which can be well applied to the TV broadcasting business, and the computer simulations and experiments are also done. According to the above problems, this main contribution includes the following parts:1. Research on video watermarking schemes based on DWTWe propose two video watermarking schemes which are based on 1D-DWT and 3D-DWT respectively. The 1D-DWT scheme chooses the low-frequency domain to embed watermark, while the 3D-DWT one chooses the low-middle frequency domain, and the watermark detection is completely blind. The two schemes can reduce complexity more efficiently and meet the real-time requirement in practical systems. On the same time, the two ones are also robust to some common video processing such as MPEG-2 compression, nosing and frames exchanging.2. Development of WDRM systemWe design one DRM system based on video watermarking which is often applied to digital TV business. The CA system controls the users'authorization including watching and recording and other operations, and the watermarking technique protects copyright of TV programs. In the front of the DRM system, the watermark which identifies copyright information is embedded into programs. When the digital TV programs were illegally disseminated by malicious users, the TV station can prove the copyright by the extracted watermark. In the end of the system, the unique PDK in the smart card is embedded into programs when users are recording programs. If users illegally disseminate these recorded programs, the PDK can be extracted to identify the illegal users.3. Development of TV programs monitoring systemWe embed the watermark into programs and convey the watermarked programs using the digital broadcasting system, and the ratings survey is realized according to the extracted watermark and some information in the TS. The watermark is embedded after advertisement is made and then we can judge whether the advertisement is broadcasted by the extracted watermark. We realize the simulation of advertisement monitoring by designing software. By the software, we can conveniently observe the status of advertisement in TV programs according to the extracted information in TS.
