Research On The Laser Marker Controller Card Based On PCI Bus

The PCI Local Bus is a high performance, 32-bit or 64-bit bus with multiplexel address and data lines. The laser marking system consists of the computer, the ISA control card and the laser marking machine. As the ISA Bus is replaced by the PCI Bus, most computer mainboards no long have ISA pinborad. So the old cards need to be upgraded to the PCI cards.This thesis discussed the design of a laser marker controller card based on PCI bus, including hardware development and drive program. The basic configuration of PCI bus is introduced, as well as PCI2040, the core component in the card, which performs the control of PCI interface. Using the TMS320VC5410 and the data memory of low voltage, low power and high speed as the core parts, the author extends the PCI bus with high speed data transmission. Besides, the utilizing of the D/A transforming circuit of voltage automatic compensation and the WDM device driver programme of the real time control capability insures the high speed data transmission of the system. Some problems of producing PCB and identifying PCI card are also expounded.In this thesis, the WDM device driver programme based on Windows XP operating system is programmed for communicating with PCI card, operating system and programme. The WDM driver programme enables the computer to identify the PCI card corretly and control the PCI2040 and DSP5410 to realize the data transmission. It also introduces the development and programming method of the WDM driver programme and how to use it to achieve the DSP bootload and data transmission through HPI. Finally the data transmission has been achieved from DSP to D/A transform chip via DMA and McBSP.
