With the continuous progress of science and technology and the rapid development of motor vehicles, people pay more and more attention on the safety of motor vehicles. The technology of TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) becomes one of the most important problems in the field of the safety of motor vehicles around the world. Therefore the significance and the influence of designing and developing TPMS with excellent performance and high reliability all by ourselves are far-reaching. However, some problems stilled exist on the performance and the reliability of the TPMS we explored. Packet loss and bit error will influence the performance of TPMS wireless communication. This paper is focusing on this problem, taking a method to improve the performance of TPMS wireless communication. The data frame is divided to two parts in the wireless sensor. Manchester coding is used in the preamble in order to give the receiver an in-phase clock. Hamming coding and interweave technology are used in the data bit to decrease the influence of burst error, multipath effect and Doppler Frequency-shift. After the modulation, the information is sent to the wireless channel. In the receiver, demodulation, decoding and deinterweave are necessary. The simulation indicate that when the channel environment is good, the performance of wireless communication is well; when the channel environment is bad, hamming coding can help bit error rate and packet loss fall to 60%, when the continuous interference is strong, hamming coding and interweave technology can help bit error rate and packet loss fall to less than 1%. The theory and the test also indicate that hamming coding and interweave technology are very important to improve the performance of TPMS wireless communication.
