The Research On ZigBee^TM And The Routing Algorithm Of The Wireless Sensor Network

Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) technology,which be known as one of the most promising technology in the future,is an emerging technology in recent years.ZigBee protocol is a short-range Wireless Personal Area Network protocol characterized by lowe-rate,low-power,Large-capacity and high reliability,which based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.ZigBee protocol is very suitable for the WSN.WSN is composed by many nodes with limited handling capacity, especially with limited energy. WSN have very strict restrictions on energy consumption.So it is necessary to minimize energy consumption to extend the survival time of network. Therefore, a good design routing protocol,and reducing unnecessary communication are very important in order to save energy. There is not a common routing protocol can suitable for all WSNs,the specific algorithm is often associated with the actual situation in the network. This paper discusses the Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy(LEACH), and its improvement.LEACH which is the first hierarchicl routing protocol,is a kind of self-organizing, adaptive, energy efficient clustering network protocol,and many other well-known routing protocols are developed from the basis of it. This paper analyzes the main ideas of the LEACH protocol, clustering mechanisms, and the mode of communication within the cluster and inter-cluster.Based on the evaluation criteria of the routing protocol for wireless sensor networks,this paper point out some deficiencies in the LEACH.Then putting out the corresponding solutions,and a multi-hop and long distance transmission algorithm based on LEACH.This algorithm have many advantages such as more accurate optimal number of cluster head nodes, more reasonable distribution of the cluster head nodes, multi-hop data transmission mechanism, dynamic data frame transmission time,and so on.while inheriting the merits of LEACH protocol,this algorithm do some effective improvement for the LEACH.
