Advanced education needs more modern teaching methods, especially for mechatronic measurement and control field. There are many mechatronic measurement and control experiment products in domestic and foreign markets. This paper analyses features of four typical teaching products for mechatronic measurement and control experiment. However, these four products are not designed for measurement and control experiment in university education. It is necessary to research and develop a new teaching platform for measurement and control experiment.Signal frequency measurement experiment and ball & beam system control experiment are two typical experiments. The former applied to DSP (digital signal process) course and the latter is usually used in control course. Mechatronic measurement and control experiments, like Signal frequency measurement experiment and ball & beam system control experiment, require platform has abilities of signal condition, analog/digital conversion, digital signal process, user interface and motor driving. According to the requirement, an elementary scheme based on 51 singlechip and an advance scheme based on ARM7 processor are presented in this paper. Respective features of these schemes can fit for different measurement and control experiment.The elementary scheme based on LPC925 is able to drive two DC motors and two servo motors. All of the I/O ports of LPC925 are open to user. Sensor circuits can be built on breadboard. The size of elementary scheme is small and has motion control ability, so that it can be controller of variable motional structures.The advanced scheme based on LPC2142 has strong computing ability. Six condition channels and six A/D convert with 10-bit 2000000 sample rate can be used to data acquisition, 4×4 keyboard, 8-digital LED displays and 128×64 LCM provide good user interface. Four PWM output can be used to drive DC motor. The advanced scheme with signal condition and digital process, can be applied for DSP experiments.As examples, two experiments, double-tire vehicle control and voltage meter, are mentioned at the end of this paper. The other experiments can be developed based on these two experiments.
