On Compact Broadband Common-caliber Antenna

With the common-caliber design method, a compact multi-band common-caliber antenna is studied in this paper. The research works are divided into two parts in this thesis: 1. A compact broadband planar antenna is studied and designed. 2. An improved planar sleeve antenna is simulated and designed.Firstly, on the basis of broadband and compact antenna technology, a compact broadband planar antenna combined with inverted L planar antenna and rectangular planar monopole antenna is simulated and designed by using antenna composite integration design method. The antenna is simulated by CST MICROWAVE STUDIO, and the simulated and measured results are compared and analyzed. The antenna is fabricated on the printed circuit board with size of 43×24 cm2. Because of compact, broadband, low-profile and aerodynamic characteristics, this antenna is used in particular as airborne antenna.Secondly, with the basic theory of sleeve antenna, an improved planar sleeve antenna with the same caliber is designed. So the common-caliber design of the two antennas is realized.Finally, the research of the paper are summarized and the problems remain to be studied further are proposed.
