When the mobile communication network developing,The design of Antenna applied to small-sized mobile devices has become a general research in academia and industry.PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna)antenna has good characteristics of structure and omnidirectional performance which is suitable for the design of mobile device.Antenna need to cover more frequency when 5G comes.At the same time,MIMO technology becomes popular and antenna needs to be further miniaturized to satisfy the engineering.So the paper is mainly centered on the broadband and miniaturization.And results are as follow:1.The paper is based on the theory,and theoretically analyzes the basic theory of antennas such as radiation theory.We describe from the basic theory in order to analyze the requirement of the actual performance of the project.And then analyze the small antenna's development and design methods.We enter a case to describe the development of PIFA antenna,and analyze the similar types of monopole antenna and microstrip antenna.So it brings out the design process and methods of PIFA antenna.Finally,we analyze the shortcomings of PIFA antenna and propose a new design method.2.The paper presents a dual-band U-slot folded PIFA antenna.At the beginning,we use the U-slot technology to get two resonance points of low and high frequency,so it can cover2G,3G,4G cellular networks such as DCS/UMTS/LTE and WLAN(2.4/5G).so it satisfy the need of small-sized devices.Next,the size becomes smaller by using the patch folding technology.The relative operating bandwidth of this antenna is 48.9%(low frequency band)and 44.3%(high frequency band).Compared with the traditional PIFA antenna,the working bandwidth is significantly improved.At the same time,this kind of antenna has the characteristics of miniaturization after compressing the size,and the size is 27×18×9mm.3.The paper presents a wide-band folded PIFA antenna base on the slotted ground technology.The low frequency resonance point can be effectively reduced by using the slotted ground technology.and operating bandwidth of low frequency band can be increased,in order to miniaturize the size and widen the bandwidth.The experimental data shows that the height of antenna is reduced to 5mm,the patch area is 375mm~2,and the overall size is 25×15×5mm.While keeping the small size,the antenna's relative operating bandwidth reaches 118.2%,covering not only the DCS/UMTS/LTE/WLAN(2.4/5G),but also the 5G Sub-6GHz band.In this paper,we design the two small-size and wide-bandwidth PIFA antenna through using various techniques.It also provides a feasible solution,and it can solve the practical engineering problems.
