Along with high speed and heavy load of railroad transportation, it forces to improve vehicle traction connection technology ceaselessly. This paper concentrates on researching reverse engineering techniques to digest and absorb advanced design ideas of drawbar and lock technology. Thereby, we can acquire a favorable technological foundation for mastering the abroad advanced technology scientifically, thoroughly and accurately, as well as satisfying the urgent demand for heavy freight cars traction technology by the development of the national economy and narrowing disparities among our country freight vehicle connection technology and the overseas advanced technology.In data collection and data preprocessing techniques , This paper proposing the drawbar and lock orientation mode through analyze the structure and feature of each components, using Romer2020, 6 axes coordinate measuring machine with scanning method and point to point method in data collection layout scheme. data preprocessing is the key tache in reverse engineering, the main work also include ingeniously remove the noise point by direct-viewing inspection method in Imageware software, align drawbar multi-views based on three reference points method, simplify points cloud data by Chordal Deviation method, The topology relationship between the section clouds is generated by sorting the nearest point And radius compensations are implemented by ex-post calculation method in two-dimension or offsetting the fitted surface entirely。In the model reconstruction technique, the paper studying with emphasis model reconstruction method base on the feature and the restraint in Pro/E, proposing reverse consequence with design method to restore feature and the restraint taking product function as the center, taking points cloud data as the basis in fitting schematic diagram outline; it distilling division point through curvature method in accessory outline , fitting curve based on the restraint after points data subsection synchronously, The synchronized fitting reconstruction subsection curve prolong, intersect and cut out to the non-ambiguous schematic diagram outline which satisfies the design needs; using the Boolean calculation complete model reconstruction through feature model reconstruction method.In order to appraise the precision of reconstruction model, the paper proposing the reversion error mainly include the primary form error, the measuring error, the compensating error, the data processing error and the modeling reconstruction error, as well as analyzing the error reason and the reversion model influence which each kind of error produced; it proposing the appraisal target of reversion model precision, appraisal method based on the curvature and curved surface quality analysis method and completing quality analysis of drawbar curve and lock curved surface through these methods, and then reconstruction model precision is satisfy the contract request by effective error control.
