With the development of modern science and technology, people's requirements of various equipments'performance, reliability, security continue to increase, hydraulic drive technology has seen a rapid development and has more extensive application, almost covering every corner of our production and life. Since there is a large gap in the quality, performance, stability of hydraulic components produced in China, compared with the world's advanced level, the high-end hydraulic components mostly depend on imports which are used from agricultural machinery, engineering machinery, mining machinery to defense equipment and aerospace products. Therefore, the design and development of our own independent intellectual property rights of high-end hydraulic components are very necessary and urgent.Since having worked on the design of hydraulic components and do the investigation of domestic manufacturers'design and manufacturing conditions of hydraulic components, I propose a hydraulic components'design and detection method based on reverse engineering after reading a large number of domestic and foreign literature of design on the reverse engineering. Reverse engineering technology is one of the important design tools in modern design, which gains the 3D CAD digital model from a physical model. It suits for the modeling design of precision instruments and the products with complex geometry or more free surface.This paper first studies and describes the key technology of reverse engineering, including reverse engineering of the measuring equipment and methods of measurement, point cloud data processing principles and methods, model reconstruction techniques and methods. Emphasis on the curve fitting modeling theory and methods, quadratic surface reconstruction and fitting constraints, feature-based constraint model reconstruction method, free surface reconstruction technology. Then we gain model parameter's design and testing technical line of the hydraulic component by using PC-DIMS as measuring software for point cloud, using Geomagic studio 9 to process data and make model reconstruction and model parameterization in Pro/E system. There is an example about a certain type of valve plate, integrated valve, motor end caps. We realize the complete process from the point cloud data acquisition, processing to the model reconstruction and parameter processing, generating parametric 3D CAD digital model and contacting the parts based on measured test data. At the same time, it make the ideas and methods of using contact measurement data to guide and complete the detailed design of parts, including the size, shape and position, with tolerance, etc. I believe this paper will play as the guidance and reference on the design of hydraulic components in China and will have much application value.
