Researching on the actuality of reverse engineering and the usage of it, in the author's opinion, it is required to process original data satisfying the requirements of CAD/CAM software; and it is worth to emphasize the research work on curve and surface construction methods, to develop relative data-process software. According to the features of reverse engineering, employing object-oriented software develop technique, the author complete a software architecture that fit for reverse engineering data processing. Based on this architecture, the function mould, which can delete bad data, break out, smooth, and partitioning them, is completed. Analysing theoretical formulas on smooth-surface modelling gets some algorisms, which can be directly used in programming. A data-exchange interface is designed for exchanging product information with other CAD/CAM system. OpenGL techniques is used in realizing the graphics display and interactive operate. From the work, we get follow achievements: 1. According to the features of reverse engineering, employing object-oriented programming methods, a software architecture, which fit for reverse engineering is designed. The message transfer stream and modules structure is made out. And the function requirements are confirmed. 2 Some maturely data-process methods are analysed and studied in the paper, these methods are used in realizing the software, which can process the data, such as delete bad data, break up, smooth and partition them, etc. 3 Data partition methods are researched; Laplacian edge-detect operator and edge-find algorism are integrated to complete this aim. This method is used in the software to be tested. 4. Model design method is based on NURBS theories. The relative formulas are ratiocinated, and some algorisms, which can be used in programming, are gotten. 5 IGES standard is used in realizing data-exchange interface. A pre-process data-exchange interface that based on IGES is given out. Based on this designation, the functions of this interface is partly realized and tested in the software.6. The graPhics display and interactive opethe pall is completed by employingOpenGL technique. The architect'Ure of the display module is fully realizedand interactive operate module is comPleted patly. The objects in the modelcan be displayed, tfanslated, rotated and deletCd, etc.
