The modern logistics system is a high integrated information management system based on the traditional logistics, which applies the advanced scientific methods to be available to speed up logistics, to enhance accuracy, to decrease stockpile, and to reduce cost. With the fast development of embedded technology and mobile communications technology, it is people's active demand to use the micro computer technology into various producing and living fields.According to the concrete demand of the modern logistics storage area, an embedded logistics monitor system is developed for the manager with advanced achievement of modern embedded technology. By the high performance embedded terminal and the wireless communications technology, the system provides an economical and convenient logistics monitor tool which is easy to operation for the logistics manager. The embedded logistics monitor system designed in this paper mainly consists of the embedded monitor terminal, GSM wireless module and software installed on the monitor centre (personal computer).Firstly, the knowledge about embedded system, GSM wireless communications technology and short message function were described in the paper, after that the embedded monitor terminal is further researched as a principal part include the design and implementation of hardware and software. In the hardware design, the paper mainly introduces the analysis and selection of core processor, discusses on the design and implementation of the memory device, man-machine interface, serial communication interface and power circuit around the processor. In the software design, the necessary program is designed and debugged by ADS1.2 which is an embedded workbench developed by the ARM company. The embedded operation system is used to administer the soft and hard resource of the terminal. And then, the procedure of transplanting operation system is described in detail.GSM module is connected with the terminal by serial communication interface. It sends the available data to the monitor center by the application, keeps the wireless communication smoothly. The paper partly describes the GSM module interface characteristic and use method. The mainly part of the monitor center is software design. The JAVA Language and database are use to develop the visual management software, which is run on a personal computer used the Windows operation system, can receive and display available data, to realize the far-distance monitor function. Finally, the paper makes summary to the whole procedure of the system, points out the function of the current system and puts forward on the further development and application of the system in the future.
