Now, with the popularity of mobile phones, communication between people is becoming increasingly easy on, whether in time or space, narrowing the distance. Phone in the process of its evolution function is gradually expanding, improving, and one of main functions, sending and receiving short message, has become essential in life, the short message communication compare to the E-mail, telephone, letter and other communications approach has obvious advantages, it is active communication mode, no response, communications, low cost, the recipient can immediately view the messages, live example is during the festive season, people will send or bulk text messages through the Internet to express their wishes.However, we can not help thinking, if only use cell phone to send or bulk short message function is too simple, since the short message was born along with the phone, text messaging can be used for more purposes if, from the object can upgrade from a single user to enterprise-level, From the function can be further extended.Therefore, researching and developing a flexible short messgae application platform for the small companied is the foucus of this paper. With this short messgae platform, the user can sending large quantities of information to the notification, short message voting, business management, industrial control and other aspects of functional short message application platform.This paper studies the smart message platform system software and presents the design and implementation of the smart message platform system software based on embedded Linux. Smart message platform is based on the hardware of PXA270 development board and spread rum’s SM5100B communication model. This system software is divided into four layers with the operating system as the bottom layer, which realizes the transplantation of embedded Linux. The second layer is of the system service which process send/receive short message,. In the third layer, the middle layer, the embedded GUI implements the human-computer interface, embedded Web server support other client visit the smart message platform via IE explorer. The embedded database is used to store all kinds of information and the management system of embedded database manages all the data. The top layer is the application layer of smart message platform.
