Along with the rapid development of automation technology, computer network technology and communication technology, the use of these advanced remote monitoring and control technologies in certain areas and certain occasions, has become a development trend. Thanks to the advanced remote monitoring and control technology, the user can acquire remote operation and at the same time, can adjust the working condition or repair them, can save time and improve work efficiency. The purpose is to design a remote control and monitoring system, matching with SBS-900pulse compression radar, which can monitor and control the VTS radar remotely. Pulse compression radar has strong anti-interference ability and the target detection and tracking ability, it is a way to promote the function implementation for the VTS system.This thesis mainly discusses the design of remote monitoring and control terminal for SBS-900VTS radar. First of all, the SBS-900radar, which combines the full solid-state technology, Doppler processing and pulse compression technology, is studied for the feasibility of the application in VTS system. It is a preparation for the theory. What is drawn in conclusion is that the pulse compression radar is suitable for application to the VTS. The research and analysis on the SBS-900pulse compression radar communication interface related instruction format and contents is performed. The overall system scheme are designed in accordance with the functional requirements. According to the overall function, the system is divided into several pieces of function modules, including a remote monitoring and control function, fault alarm function, information recording and management function modules. Specific design schemes for every module are listed. Finally, according to the needs of users, and the characteristics of VTS radar, the implementation plan, which design human-computer interaction interface in the Windows system and Visual C++6.0development environment, was identified. Eventually the human-computer interaction interface with good operation has been designed in the VC environment.
