Design Of The Embedded Vehicle Video Monitoring System Based On GPRS

As people improve the standard of living, cars play an increasingly important role in people's life. Vehicle safety and traffic safety becomes a hot issue of concern. There are larger defects in regard to the reliability or accuracy in the traditional vehicle security system, which makes car theft and vehicle robbery become frequent phenomenon. Traffic Accidents often occur, and the roadbed monitoring system does not have mobility, greater scope to take photographs. Because of a lack of first-hand information, traffic police in dealing with many accidents are difficult to carry out that responsibility. Against this background, the long-range wireless vehicle monitoring system for promotion is imperative.The development of Radio monitoring and controlling system is based on wireless data transmission technology. It makes it easy for people to monitor and control remote systems. GPRS Provides a new data transmission mode for wireless monitoring and eontrolling systems. Compared to traditional data transmission modes, the GPRS based data transmission mode is long-distance, high speed, good real-time and large capacity.This paper has presented the design methods of an embedded video monitoring system . The CPU is the microprocessor, S3C2410, with ARM9 core and the embedded operating system is embedded Linux. We use USB camera for image acquisition,with SD card as a video storage medium which stores JPEG-formate video streaming. GPRS modem conects to the the monitoring center with the controlling of CPU and send video images . The PC sevrer of monitoring center will receive image data and display it. In the system, image data is transmitted by GPRS, it iswireless and very convenient. GPRS can provide a high transmission speed(MAX:171.2kbps),which is practical and most widely used mobile netwok in China.
