Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is a new generation of technology in netconnection. With the rapid progress of communications, SOC, embeddedcomputers and microprocessor, the WSN has been more powerful than everbefore. The sensor node has now evolved into a multimedia, Omni directionalapperceive from old simply information detect and transfer. What's more,information even can be melt in sensor node. As we said, the development oftechniques make WSN node more powerful and stronger. And it makes sensornode perception more. Nowadays, what we are searching for is not only an abilityof sensing anywhere, but also sensing anything.This paper is base on sensor node architecture of WSN. We first dissect thefunction and the traditional architecture of wireless sensor nodes. After that, wediscuss about hardware design of WSN node, picture data gathering process inWSN node, image segmentation, and at last, image recognition. All theseprocesses are done in WSN sensor node. This will disperse the computationalcomplexity in sink node, reduce amount of data that must be transferred in WSN,and makes WSN more effective.We discuss the implementation of sensor node on board level. We use someripe modules to develop our new WSN node. That will reduce both thedevelopment difficult and time. We chose s3c2410, which is designed bySumsung, as our CPU. The s3c2410 is based on arm9, this makes it very powerfuland fulfill our needs. We chose microchip ov511, which is designed by OnimVision, as our image sensor. What's more, we also write some programs inembedded linux.
