GJB289A Standard is a national military standard that is widely used in the field of aerial and space. It evolves from the USA Military Standard'MIL-STB-1553B'which is celebrated with highly reliability. Of late years more and more weapon equipment test system and system simulation equipment desire GJB289A bus interface. Therefore, the development of GJB289A bus equipment with the function of test and simulation has important meaning. A kind of GJB289A bus equipment which can be used as tester and simulator on PCI Card is designed.After the studying of GJB289A Standard, with Verilog Hardware Description Language, this thesis implements practical GJB289A interface IP core in the FPGA which includes Manchester decoder/encoder, protocol processor with three modes, dedicated register and timer module. The designed GJB289A bus interface with two channels meets the equipment's need. Based on SOPC technology the system controller with the requirement of multifunction and upgradeable is formulated with the Nios II embedded processor which has the specific of custom and low cost. The components for data storage composed of duel-port static ram and flash memory can gratify the storage of large capacity no-volatile data. The communication between PCI bus and Simulator Card is implemented by the use of PCI I/O Accelerator'PCI9054'which supports DMA data transfer.The Nios program for system control is developed by C code under the environment of Nios II IDE. The driver and application program are developed by WinDriver and Visual C++ software. The test program is developed under Visual C++ environment, which verified the effectivity of this design.
