| With the development of the digital TV ,computer technology and internet, more and more information technology are apply to the daily life and are improving the quality of the everyday life . The development of television technology from analog TV to digital TV has brought higher quality video and audio appreciation, and more abundant program resource。Benefited from the high-speed downlink broadcast system of the digital television,various information services can be based on it. This makes TV not only provide the information,but also as a bridge which connect the audience and the services provider. Receive and transform digital TV signals into the signals which analog TV sets can display.STB(set-top-box) is an transition product of DTV system, it receive and transform digital TV signals into the signals which analog TV sets can display. MPEG-2 standard is developed in response to the applications of television broadcasting and high definition television.This paper, which is based on the system blueprint of STi5518 provided by Company ST. We make a research on receiving technology of STB of cable digital television conformed to MPEG-2 and DVB-C. We also make a research on the hardware and software system of the STB. In this paper, the technology of the transport stream and DVB is very important. We use the technology to make the update program transport through the CATV net。Online updating is a very important function of STB system, considering there is normative approach to implement online updating system and our Set-Top-Box aims to DVB-C, a scheme base on MPEG-2 and DVB-C is proposed, and the related data structures and operations to implement this scheme are detailed. |
