In recent years, it's realized that people aren't satisfied with the present AM broadcasting project, and the digital technique develops very fast. As a result, a new broadcasting project named Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) has been put forward.With the generation of many relevant standards, DRM project has flourished all over the world, and has enjoyed widespread acceptance. In China, DRM project is also on rapid development. Hence, research on the technique of DRM is significant.In the system of DRM, channel encoding use Multilevel Code (MLC), which base on punctured convolution code.Channel encoding can improve the character of data to resist the noise, and insure the quality of the transmission and receive. MLC is an optimal code method, it's a combination of coding and modulation which enhance the robust of digital transmission system. Channel decoding is the Mutlistage Decode based on Viterbi decode algorithm, it's a sub-optimal decode method, and much more simple than the most likely decode with a sub-optimal performance. Viterbi is a kind of optimal probability decode algorithm, it has high efficiency, high speed and only needs a simple decoder, so since it was advanced, Viterbi algorithm had gained a high-speed development.This thesis analyses the DRM scheme of other countries. As a result, in the basis of DRM standard, we present the scheme of channel encoding and channel decoding. The thesis also deals with the issue of bit interleaving and deinterleaving,QAM mapping and demapping. In order to insure the velocity of process, we use a DSP in decoder. Additionally, this thesis researches the real-time program design to realize channel decoding, and also makes detail analyses.
