In recent years, along with the development of the electronics,micro-electronics, computer and communication technology, digitalprocessing and transmission of image and sound information have beenimproved. The digital video system has already entered practical stage.The digital audio and video products have already entered the daily life.With SDTV (standard definition TV), HDTV (high-definition TV) startsbroadcasting systematically, the system of the analogue TV is transformedto the system of the digital TV. In the near future, the digital TVnecessarily replaces the analogue TV. The establishment of MPEG standard formed the foundation of SDTV andHDTV development. A great deal of test single with various parameters isrequired by system design, manufacture, testing and service. Greatnessdevelopment space is invoked by internet, electron commerce etc. All ofthis give a great impetus to this research. This paper is focused on the research of the multiplex and demultiplexfor MPEG-2 Transport Stream(TS) and the Digital Storage Media Command andControl(DSM-CC). The paper researches some difficult problem of the timebase of the digital TV system, the synchronism of the audio single andthe video single,etc.It also research the different multiplex algorithmand performance for the single program and multi-program. It has alsoanalysed and improved the performance of the different multiplexalgorithm, and provided the experiment contrast. And also the codingalgorithm which faced the single user and based on the DSM-CC. Based onthe DSM-CC video stream, several kinds of trick mode operation haverealized. In application of the research results,it provide a series of softwarewhich contain the one which multiplex and demultiplex the MPEG-2 TS stream,and the one which code and decode DSM-CC stream.The software are allrunning on the Windows system, having the interface,aidant system andinstall program. All software are validated. The result are all right andused in the research work. Chapter one hasintroduced the research background of the subject and experimentconditions. From chapter two to chapter five are first part, whichintroduce MPEG-2 transport stream multiplex and demultiplex softwarepackage. Among them chapter two is ABC about TS which used in this subject,chapter three recommend the demultiplex software, the fourth and fifthchapters recommend the research course of the multiplex software. Chaptersix and chapter seven is the second part, introduce the research work aboutDSM-CC. Among them chapter six has introduced some knowledge correlatedwith DSM-CC that involves in MPEG-2 standard, chapter seven introducedthe course of rewritten the DSM-CC decoder. MPEG-2 standard has deep intension, in ISO/IEC 13818-1 it involveda lot of factors, there are some differences between the software and thehardware. Based on relevant working foundation, the paper do a lot ofresearch work in TS multiplex algorithm by introduce the system targetdecoder(T-STD), synchronize mechanism and multiplex.The work have gotimprovement in multiplex efficiency and synchronize performance. But thepaper has not studied statistical multiplex algorithm.In improving theefficiency,it still remain some work to continue. Though, this paper does certain decoding experiment research for theDSM-CC that faces single user, this paper have not started the praticalwork for the DSM-CC of network application which is the occasion scoperesearch and hot application.
