With the development of microelectronics and virtual technology, virtual instrument has been widely used and it will be the future direction of instrument design. Compared with the rapid development of virtual instruments, the evaluation system of virtual instrument has lagged far behind the research.In the traditional method of evaluation system, hardware testing and software testing can not communicate until the system test phase. So, Hardware testing is chained down to software development and lag behind software testing.1. This paper has established a Petri net model for hardware and sets up a software testing model to have a testing to the hardware. And, in which we make a hardware testing model in the instrument model testing system. Thus make hardware testing synchronic with software testing.2. The software design is the key part of the whole virtual instrument. On the base of the popular sample circuit, an instrument can execute different functions by reworking the software. The VI software testing can not be work without the hardware supporting. We built a Petri net model for VI software. To link the Petri net model and the VI instrument of hardware& software, have a vivid description to the VI instrument system to get a system's logical model.3. In the foundation of system Petri net model module and mathematical model of function model, firstly, we generated a testing example by the systematic Petri net model. Secondly, we get expectations of test cases from mathematical models. Finally, Comparing expectation and real result, we come out the test result.4. During the VI instruments function testing stage; this paper tested the SNR, bandwidth and uncertainty performance of VI, and designed a programmer of SNR and bandwidth testing.5. In the end, we tested A-100 integrated VI instrument by using VI test system built in this paper.
