Research On Application Of Mobile Agent For Network Management

Mobile agent is a new distributing technology, whose self-determination, mobility and intelligence have just met the needs of network management. Therefore, it's a significant thing to research on the application of mobile agent in network management system.This thesis analyzes the research status of network management based on mobile agent and determines the objective. Existing mobile agent-based network management systems, which have not taken full advantage of mobile agent technology, are not flexible enough. On researching strongpoint and shortage of the models, a mobile agent-based model in network management system is designed.In order to improve the shortage of mobile agent location in network management system, this thesis discusses several primary solutions about location. Combining the tree region-based idea, we improved the concentrated registration approach. In this method, server for orientation in a region is chosen dynamically, which will largely reduce performance bottleneck in the process of location and provide better robustness and agility.Network topology discovery is researched weightily in several parts of network management. We study the correlative theory based on SNMP for topology discovery and some existent algorithms. Subsequently we propose a new discovery way, where mobile agent is sent to track object address. In this idea, number of MA will be decreased and topology discovery efficiency will be improved.We draw the conclusion: contrast to conventional models and others' mobile agent-based network management models, this system has better performance in system respond time and network flow.
