Development of microprocessor, sensor and wireless communications technology has motivated the development of wireless data acquisition system. It can be defined as an autonomous system. The system includes a lot of sensor nodes designed to intercommunicate via radio. These nodes coordinate to perform a common task. They apperceive, collect and compute the information of the objects, then transmit the aggregated data to the observer. Wireless data acquisition system has the character of quick and flexible forming net. It has the widely commercial applications and becomes a new research area of modern technology.Embedded wireless data acquisition system is very useful in the world. It can be found in industrial monitor, control, military, emergency, circumstance and aerial defence. It is also very useful in some newly areas: house tending, traffic etc. With the development of technology, the embedded wireless data acquisition system will be found everywhere.In this dissertation, based on intensive study in embedded operate system and wireless communication technology, the operating systemμClinux is transplanted in ARM hardware platform. Some key techniques of software development underμClinux are discussed and studied. At the same time the wireless data acquisition card and wire transmission protocol is designed based on MSP430and CC2420.The performance of system, which include reliability of the transmission protocol, the range and error code ratio, is tested. At last, embedded wireless data acquisition system is applied to testing temperature. The results show that the system has the character of low error code ratio and high reliability. Based on the platform, it can be applied in typical wireless industrial monitor and control system, medical treatment control and monitor, information household equipment etc. The production of based on the system has broad market prospects.
